What determines the quality of my image? The amount of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby, the amount of tissue between the probe and the baby, age, fetal position and fetal activity can determine the quality of your pictures. Some babies come ready for their close-up shots while others simply turn their backs to us, hide behind their hands and feet or cuddle up against theplacenta or uterine wall. Every baby scans differently. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of your baby. You may want to drink lots of fluids several days before your visit for the scan done between 28 to 34 weeks. This seems to help increase the fluid around the fetus allowing us to better image the fetus. Are guest allowed? Family and friends are certainly welcome. We have an adequate size room with an additional 40 inch flat screen television for guest to watch. Comfortable seating will be provided. The scan from 28 to 34 weeks can take up to an hour, so you may bring toys or games to entertain small children if they get boredWho will perform my ultrasound? Babywaves is owned and operated by a local ultrasound technologist who is registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and has over 25 years experience. All ultrasounds at Babywaves will be performed by certified sonographers.
